Welcome to the Maioha Studio website.  

We are the curators and creative directors of this project.

As wahine Māori and lifelong friends, we have brought our respective skills, artistry and life journeys together to create elegant, refined, abstract, contemporary Māori art pieces. 

Our mahi toi (art) includes adornments, jewellery, objets d'art, and practical pieces that acknowledge the ancient and modern aspects of te ao hurihuri, the changing world. Our inspiration draws on pūrākau (tribal legends), cultural heritage and spiritual legacies of our tūpuna, ancestors.

After years of travelling on our respective life journeys in Aotearoa and abroad, we have accrued extensive experience in the Art, Fashion, Film, Interior Design and Travel industries. We are deeply inspired to create authentic, quality toi Māori for others to treasure.

Cassandra spent her formative years in the metropolis cities of London, New York and Miami, where she worked in the creative industries; fashion, film, art and interiors.

Claudine's art practice extends over 20 years. She is an award-winning, multidisciplinary artist and has exhibited nationally and internationally.
